Frequently asked questions
"When does the job begin?"
BELLE Art & Paint handles the jobs on a first come first serve basis.
"Who does the painting?"
We have a staff of 10-12 full-time painters divided into crews. All painters are BELLE Art & Paint employees, we don't contract subs, so you don't have to worry about our crew coming in or out of the project, once a project starts, the same crew leader will be on your project from start to finish, making the project a breeze, no need to explain yourself more than once to get the job done right. Making your satisfaction our priority.
"What kind of paint do you usually use?"
We usually work with paint from PPG, Sherwin Williams, BEHR or Benjamin Moore. Paint selection is based on customer preference, the nature of the job and/or warranty factors.
About 90% of the time, we would recommend the highest quality paint from the brands, however, this can be influenced by customer preference, bid specifications or what best fits the project's nature.
"What size/type of jobs do you specialize in?"
We handle any size of projects. We estimate any project that is $ 500+, if it is less than $ 500, we handle the job on a time and material basis. Any job under the $ 500 estimate or less does come with an estimate service fee of $ 40.00 if you would like us to make an in person estimate.
"Do you offer any other kind of work besides painting?"
We actually do, from light carpentry, drywall repairs, wood replacement, tile repair, grouting and caulking work are also a must when you are considering repainting, and we can take care of all that for you too.
"I've had bids from really accesible to a definitely no, why does that happen?"
Well, the level of toughness and attention to detail, quality desired, and expertise of the team usually determines the cost of a job in this field. You know how the saying goes... It's harder to properly prepare the surface to work on than to do the actual painting itself, and although this might be true, we would be happy to review and determine in detail with you how our bids compare to others.
"How often do we need to paint the interior?"
Many factors need to be considered into this question, like:
The quality of the last paint used is the utmost important.
The amount of traffic through that particular area.
How many children and their ages?
Is there a fireplace nearby used during the winter?
Although there are a lot of factors to take into consideration, each home can be a bit different, but the standard in quality painting is around 6-10 years under "normal" conditions, if you still doubt about it, call us and we'll be happy to determine your particular situation and give you a more precise answer.
"What kind of surface preparation is done?"
Surface preparation is the most crucial step into a professional quality result in a project, it is a major part of our painting investment, as we want to deliver what you expect. All exterior surfaces get the right treatment, from washing, peeling, scraping into caulking and covering all adjacent surfaces ensuring proper adhesion and craftmanship, as well as interior treatments from basic sanding into the right surface porous to the nature of the job.
"How many painters would there be in my house/office?"
Since every scope of work is different, this may vary, but usually most standard jobs would have between 2-3 members including the crew leader.
"What if I don't like the color I picked?"
We've dealt with this sooo many times... You don't have to worry about it, we know that regardless of the quality of work and relationship built between the company and yourself, if you're unhappy with the color, you'll most likely are never going to hire us again, and we cannot let that happen! We have had experiences before where the customers are amazed by our quality of work, the crew and the results, but the color is just not making it worth it and now the whole perspective is clouded and they view the job as a bad experience.
So we know how frustrating this can be, and to help with it, after you'd selected us as your painting contractor, the selection of colors to be used is the most important decision you need to make. Take your time on the selection of colors, ask for color charts ahead of time, and we'll help you buying a quart or two of your selection and try it in a couple of different areas of your home/office, so you can appreciate it in different spots and lighting if needed. This way, it's cheaper to get your satisfaction through a couple of quarts than painting a whole room or house if you ended disliking the color chosen.
